Arindal is an online-roleplaying game. You play a character of your choice which lives in the world we created. The world is maintained on our server and is running, like the real world, 24/7. This means that even if you are not playing, others can, and the world will continue to change and develop. Arindal offers you great content and stories, with real people who know how to use their imagination and creativity to enjoy themselves and others.

Others?

Yes, others! Arindal is a very social game. When you are playing you will meet other players. People from your own country, or from different countries. All playing their own characters and socializing with each other. This is a great part of the fun of Arindal, making friends and adventure out together to explore our world, solve a mystery or just hang out and gossip. Don't be afraid that other players will harm you. Unlike in many other online games players cannot attack other players. The basic motto in Arindal is cooperation. Although a solitary player will be able to manage itself more or less, strength lies in working together. The mighty Fighters and the enigmatic Mages will need the services of the invaluable Healers. The Healers and Mages will need the protection of the Fighters, and the Fighters and Healers will need the services of the Mages for their magical weapons, teleportations and various other skills.

Silly!

'This all sounds silly and childish!', you may exclaim. We beg to differ. Our players are all mature men and women, who enjoy socializing and meeting new people. The friendly concept of the game formed a community where people are as much interested in eachother as in rescuing a kidnapped blacksmith, or finding out how the evil Orga tribe managed to learn the magic of lightning. Many apprentice Mages had to accept the fact that they are unable to solve the mysteries and puzzles they find on their long and tricky path. Roleplaying is not much different then acting, and who ever says acting is silly?

'To be, or...'

Roleplaying may sound scary, but it is not needed to talk and act as if you have memorized all the works of Shakespeare. If you play a Healer, just play like someone who cares for the well being of others. If you are Fighter you can act proud and brave. Just observe the others a bit and you'll see that roleplaying a bit just adds to the fun. And fun it is in Arindal. We're not a very serious bunch, after all, playing is supposed to be an enjoyable experience.

Start.

You may still have no clue what Arindal is all about. It doesn't matter! Take a look at the 'Introduction' section in 'Help & Support', the menu item top right on this page, just below the flags. There we will explain you how to set up a demo-account and to download the right client for you, so you can experience Arindal yourself. Arindal holds a small but lively group of players and they will give you a warm welcome.

Arindal is a European on-line fantasy role playing game for Mac and Windows-PC's. It has entered commercial phase on the first of February 2008. Adventurers, vagabonds, and wandering people of all races are cordially invited to take our young world to the test. Arindal is available in English, German, French and Dutch although currently we focus on the English and German localisation. Therefore Dutch and French translations can lag behind a bit.

With this multiuser online roleplaying game, players participate in the game over the internet, as a healer, mage or fighter in the eternal battle against evil. The world continues to grow through regular updates and the actions of inhabitants have an influence on the development of the world. In Arindal, live quests will be run where the players have to solve puzzles and adventures together. Often, these campaigns take just a few hours but sometimes they may last days.

Arindal is based on the ClanLord engine from Delta Tao Software. A remarkable aspect of this game is that from the first breath of your avatar, everything evolves around teamplay. The various races and classes combine their skills and talents to grow and survive in a dangerous world. It is all about sense of adventure, helping others, cooperation and heroism. Arindal is, in the first instance, a community-game and not a multi-ego-online-roleplaying game. Helped by the clear chat interface, whole groups can easily synchronize their actions and tactics, new players will find themselves involved quickly with clans or hunting parties.

Arindal wants to offer depth, instead of only having a broad world. A world which always contains new things to discover and to explore. Content instead of a nice wrapping. Graphics and animations are limited to a simple 2D environment, but this is more than enough to light the fire of your imagination, but not comparable with what the mainstream market offers.
"We see Arindal as a niche game for [role]players who simply want more game-depth - and who don't need graphical gimmicks for that" says FairTales cofounder David Jacobson.

Behind the game stands licensee FairTales Entertainment from Amstelveen, Holland. In this forge of creativity a large part of the GameMaster team has gathered including those, who, several years ago, helped to bring a similar game (Alchera) to Europe.

Looking forward to meet you ingame. Feel free to ask questions in our forum - welcome!
